Functional Test... Standard Functional Tester... Proven reliability and repeatability
Polydee Instruments have developed the 'Standard Functional Tester' for Functional testing of Products, which include:
- General small Flex & PCB assemblies
- Hard disk Preamp Flex assemblies
- DVD/CD read/write Flex assemblies
A key benefit of the test system is the integration of MDA and Functional Test all in one test system. In order to meet tight customer test specification requirements and the reliability demands of high volume production, our test system utilizes NI precision measurement instruments and Agilent GPIB controlled programmable power supplies to provide high accuracy measurements. For Functional testing a standard relay card has been developed which with the toggle of a digital bit will switch from MDA testing to functional testing. The environment and control software is written using LabVIEW G programming language, which provides a user-friendly GUI interface for operator maintenance and system administrator levels.
Additionally all the test results plus the serial number of the flex assembly are automatically saved to the hard drive as a ASCII text based file, which can be read by any text editor. If required the test results can also be saved to an SQL database providing complete traceability through a searchable relational database.
The SFT System is PC based with external instruments linked to the Standard Fixture. By leveraging the power of the PC we are able to attain very fast test throughput times. A typical test time for a desktop Preamp Flex Assembly is around 8 seconds and this includes both the MDA and functional test.
